RB: Ch 62 The Priests of the Monastery
Mass: Is 50:4-9a; Resp Ps 69; Mt 26:14-25
Lord, in your great love, answer me.
SURELY IT IS NOT I, RABBI?
We remember the infinite love and compassion of Jesus manifested fully in His passion, death, and resurrection.
Judas, oh Judas-
betrayal hurts more
when the one who betrays
has received much
from the one he betrays.
Betrayal hurts,
hurts very much …
He had loved them,
and he still did.
He still loved Judas,
Judas who had betrayed him.
(Basil Hume, Hope from the Cross)
To the Lord Jesus Christ, betrayed and handed over for love of us, let us pray:
SAVE US, O LORD!
From lovelessness.
From infidelity to those we love.
From betrayal of you, of others, of our own integrity.
From loss of love in the face of death.
(Magnificat, Intercessions, April 17, 2019)
