Monday of Holy Week

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 61:1-5 The Reception of Visiting Monks
Mass: Is 42:1-7; Resp Ps 27; Jn 12:1-11

The Lord is my light and my salvation.

Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Some years ago I discovered Kahlil Gibran's one act play, Lazarus and his Beloved. Sisters in my community put on a production with six of us as cast and one as stage manager. It was a memorable occasion. You may be interested in reading Gibran's work.

THE LARGE CROWD FOUND OUT THAT JESUS WAS THERE AND CAME, NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF HIM, BUT ALSO TO SEE LAZARUS, WHOM HE HAD RAISED FROM THE DEAD.

May we hold one another in prayer this week praying especially for those who will be baptized and received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. May these days be a time of transforming grace for all of us.
