Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Saint Vincent Ferrer (1350-1419)
First Friday of the Month

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 53:16-24
Mass: Wisdom2:1a, 12-22; Resp Ps 34; Jn 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

Today's verse before the Gospel reads, One does not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. What is the word that is coming to you this First Friday of the Month? Take your worries, struggles, pains, anxieties, and fears to the Lord and listen with the ear of your heart.

THE LORD IS CLOSE TO THE BROKENHEARTED;
AND THOSE WHO ARE CRUSHED IN SPIRIT HE SAVES.
MANY ARE THE TROUBLES OF THE JUST MAN,
BUT OUT OF THEM ALL THE LORD DELIVERS HIM.

The Holy Father's April Prayer Intention:

The presence of doctors, nurses, and other health care workers in war-torn areas is a sign of hope.

They are wise, valiant, and good-hearted people who, following their vocation, work under extremely dangerous conditions.

Let us pray for doctors and their humanitarian collaborators in war-torn areas, who risk their lives to save the lives of others.

SAINT VINCENT FERRER, PRAY FOR US.
