Friday of the Fifth Week of Lent

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 58:17-29
Mass: Jer 20:10-13; Resp Ps 18; Jn 10:31-42

I love you, O Lord, my strength.

THEY PICKED UP ROCKS TO STONE JESUS.

People again ready with stones to hurl at Jesus. One can "hear the whisperings of many: 'Terror on every side! Denounce! let us denounce him!" A repeat from yesterday: 'Let us lay down all the stones we are carrying.' Living and true God, grant us the grace.

BY HIS WOUNDS WE HAVE BEEN HEALED.

Fasting means also changing our attitudes towards other people and towards all creatures: from the temptation to 'devour' everything to satisfy our greed, to the ability to suffer for love.
