Wednesday of the Twenty-First Week in Ordinary Time

Blessed Dominic Barberi (1792-1849)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 68 The Assignment of Impossible Tasks
Mass: 2 Th 3:6-10, 16-18; Resp Ps 128; Mt 23:27-32

Blessed are you who fear the Lord, and who walk in His ways!

MAY THE LORD OF PEACE HIMSELF GIVE YOU PEACE AT ALL TIMES IN EVERY WAY. THE LORD BE WITH ALL OF YOU.
(2 Th 3:16)

St Paul's words above are ones of comfort. Peace. Blessed peace, peace inside of us which can radiate outside of us. It is the peace the world cannot give as Jesus says: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid (Jn 15:27). We pray for the gift of peace and ask what may be blocking us from receiving it. Is there any hypocrisy or evildoing that fills us? (Mt 23:28). We continue to call on the Name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.

The root of every spiritual error is believing ourselves to be righteous. To consider ourselves righteous is to leave God, the only righteous one, out in the cold.
(Pope Francis, Twitter, August 25, 2020)

BLESSED DOMINIC BARBERI,
PRAY FOR US.
