Saint John Mary Vianney (1786-1859)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 53:1-15 The Reception of Guests
Mass: Jer 30:1-2, 12-15, 18-22; Resp Ps 102; Mt 15:1-2, 10-14

The nations shall revere your name, O Lord, and all the kings of the earth your glory.

HEART OF JESUS, SACRED TEMPLE OF GOD,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

Jesus has this to say in today's Gospel: It is not what enters one's mouth that defiles; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one (Mt 15:11). Saint Benedict includes this as one of the tools for good works: "Guard your lips from harmful or deceptive speech" (RB 4:51).

SAINT JOHN MARY VIANNEY,
PRAY FOR US.
