How beautiful you are, how pleasing, my love, my delight!

To celebrate Beatrice of Nazareth, we look to the readings used for the memorial. In the great Prayer of Jesus we find Jesus praying to His Father in heaven: May the love with which you loved me, dear Father, be in them and I in them (Jn 17:26). And we learn something about love in Saint Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, a well-known passage:

Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered,
it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
LOVE NEVER FAILS.
(1 Cor 13:4-8)

BLESSED BEATRICE OF NAZARETH,
SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST,
PRAY FOR US.
