Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 66 The Porter of the Monastery
Mass: Rev 21:9b-14; Resp 145; Jn 1:45-51

Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.

MARY, QUEEN OF APOSTLES,
PRAY FOR US.

Yesterday we heard Simon say to Jesus, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Mt 16:16). Today we here Nathanael say to Jesus, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel" (Jn 1:49). Jesus repeats to each and every one of us: Who do you say that I am? (Mt 16:15). Living and true God, may there be no duplicity in us (Jn 1:47). I believe, help my unbelief.

To pray is to allow yourself to be looked at by God without illusions, excuses, or justifications. Because from the devil come darkness and lies, from God come light and truth.

SAINT BARTHOLOMEW,
PRAY FOR US.

Today's photo: Our elk friends have returned and been in our midst for some days now. You will see me and the compost bucket in the background. Nothing gets in the way of a compost run. 😎
