RB: Ch 46 Faults Committed in Other Matters
Mass: Ex 32:7-14; Resp Ps 106; Jn 5:31-47
LET THE HEARTS THAT SEEK THE LORD REJOICE; TURN TO THE LORD AND HIS STRENGTH; CONSTANTLY SEEK HIS FACE.
(Entrance Antiphon, Mass)
We were privileged to receive the "Prayer over the People" at the end of Mass this morning. This blessing is for all of us and unites us wherever we find ourselves. May we seek the praise that comes from God (Jn 5:44).
O God, protector of all who hope in you,
bless your people, keep them safe,
defend them, prepare them,
that, free from sin and safe from the enemy,
they may persevere always in your love.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
We join the Holy Father in prayer:
The fear of the elderly who are alone in nursing homes, or in hospitals, or in their own homes. and don't know what will happen. The fear of those who don't have regular jobs and are thinking about how to feed their children. They foresee they may go hungry. The fear of many civil servants. At this moment they are working to keep society functioning and they might get sick. There is also the fear, the fears, of each one of us. Each one knows what their own fears are. We pray to the Lord that He might help us to trust, and to tolerate and conquer these fears.
NB. Heads up. Pope Francis will give the Urbi et Orbi blessing beginning 6pm Roman time, Friday, March 27, 2020, from Saint Peter's Square. The Holy Father invites "everyone to participate spiritually through the means of communication."
