Third Sunday of Lent

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 36 Care of the Sick
Mass: Ex 17:3-7; Resp Ps 95; Rm 5:1-2, 5-8; Jn 4:5-42

If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

HEART OF JESUS, FOUNTAIN OF LIFE AND HOLINESS,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

There may be times when we join the quarreling Israelites and test the Lord, asking, "Is the Lord in our midst or not?" (Ex 17:7). Maybe we are looking in all the wrong places to quench our thirst. The Lord is in our midst. We turn to Him and pray with Pope Francis: "Let us ask for the grace to cultivate a desire for Christ, source of living water, the only one who can satisfy the thirst for life and love which we bear in our hearts" (Twitter, Angelus Address). May we know the gift that Jesus gives: Whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst: the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life (Jn 4:14).

United to Christ, we are never alone, but we form one single Body, of which He is the Head. It is a union that is nourished with prayer, and also with the spiritual communion in the Eucharist, a practice that is highly recommended when it is not possible to receive the Sacrament.
(Pope Francis, Angelus Address, March 15, 2020)

Today's photo: We woke to a thin layer of wet snow. God is praised.
