Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Saint Turibius of Mongrovejo (1538-1606)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 43:13-19
Mass: Is 65:17-21; Resp Ps 30; Jn 4:43-54

I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.

I like this royal official presented in today's Gospel (Jn 4:46). His son was so ill that he was near death. Hearing that Jesus was in town, the official went straight to the Divine Physician and asked Him to come and heal his son. Mission accomplished. May we be so bold and courageous, and go straight to Jesus with our needs and fears. We must have faith though and pray for more as we recall the words of St Peter: "But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like one day" (2 Pt 3:8). Lord, teach us to be patient.

A THOUSAND YEARS IN YOUR EYES ARE MERELY A YESTERDAY.
(Ps 90:4)

We pray with the Holy Father:

Let us pray today for those persons who are beginning to experience economic problems because of the pandemic, because they cannot work. All this affects the family. We pray for those who have this problem.

SAINT TURIBIUS OF MONGROVEJO,
PRAY FOR US.
