Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Pope Francis, Urbi et Orbi blessing, beginning 6pm Roman time from Saint Peter's Square
Saint John of Egypt (304-394)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 47 Announcing the Hours for the Work of God
Mass: Ws 2;1a, 12-22; Resp Ps 34; Jn 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

HEART OF JESUS, SACRED TEMPLE OF GOD,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

In these days when we may find ourselves spending a lot more time with others, often in close quarters, than we had otherwise planned, may we be gentle and patient with one another, even when our gentleness and patience is tested (Ws 2:19). May we be blessed with courage and strength and receive with open hearts "the hidden counsels of God" (Ws 2:22). Do not injure anyone, but bear injuries patiently (RB 4:30).

O God, who have prepared
fitting help for us in our weakness,
grant, we pray, that we may receive
their healing effects with joy
and reflect them in a holy way of life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity
of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
(Collect, Mass)

SAINT JOHN OF EGYPT,
PRAY FOR US.
