God is our refuge!

HEART OF JESUS, OUR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

When I read this from St Paul's letter to the Romans: "You are without excuse, every one of you who passes judgement. For by the standard by which you judge another you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the very same things" (Rm 2:1), I think of something I was told once: When I point one finger at someone, three fingers are pointing at me! St Paul's questions for us to ponder today: "Do you suppose, then, you who judge those who engage in such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape the judgement of God?" (Rm 2:3). "Or do you hold his priceless kindness, forbearance, and patience in low esteem, unaware that the kindness of God would lead you to repentance?" (Rm 2:4).

Merciful and gracious is the Lord, slow to anger, abounding in kindness.
God does not always rebuke, nurses no lasting anger,
Has not dealt with us as our sins merit,
nor requited us as our deeds deserve.
(Ps 103:8-10)

SAINT HEDWIG, SAINT MARGARET MARY ALACOQUE,
PRAY FOR US.
