Blessed Virgin Mary
First Saturday of the Month

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 7:51-54
Mass: Baruch 4:5-12, 27-29; Resp Ps 69; Lk 10:17-24

Let the heavens and the earth praise the Lord, the seas and whatever moves in them.

I GIVE YOU PRAISE, FATHER, LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, FOR ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE HIDDEN THESE THINGS FROM THE WISE AND THE LEARNED YOU HAVE REVEALED THEM TO THE CHILDLIKE.

Today's offering is simple: the two antiphons we sang at morning prayer, both worthy of repeating throughout this First Saturday of the Month.

Lord, listen to my prayer, turn your ear to my appeal.

O God, how great are your works, how deep are your designs.

The blessed fruit of your womb, O holy mother, left you pregnant with inexhaustible tenderness. He was born of you once and for all, yet he remains in you always, making you forever fruitful.
(Guerric of Igny)
