Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Father's Day!
In other years: Saint Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-1591), patron saint of youth

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 17 The Number of Psalms to be Sung at the Hours
Mass: Jer 20:10-13; Resp Ps 69; Rom 5:12-15; Mt 10:26-33

Let the heavens and earth praise Him.

HEART OF JESUS, IN WHOM ARE ALL TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

"Fear no one" (Mt 10:26), Jesus tells us. Be bold and strong. It takes a lot of energy to be afraid and anxious. "So do not be afraid" (Mt 10:31). However, since it is not so easy to allay our fears and anxieties, we sing with the psalmist: In your great love, answer me, O God; with your help, that never fails (Ps 69).

In this Sunday's Gospel Jesus invites us not to be afraid, to be strong and confident in the face of life's challenges, because even when we encounter setbacks, our lives rest firmly in God's hands, who loves us and takes care of us.

SAINT ALOYSIUS GONZAGA,
PRAY FOR US.

Today's photo: Thanks to faithful CO, we have Dimple Hill with Mary's Peak visible between the trees on the horizon, near Corvallis, OR.
