"One Minute for Peace": stop today for one minute and pray for peace
Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 7:59
Mass: 1 Kgs 17:1-6; Resp Ps 121; Mt 5:1-12
Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
HEART OF JESUS, SON OF THE ETERNAL FATHER,
HAVE MERCY ON US.
In this month dedicated in a special way to the Heart of Christ, we began yesterday with an invocation from the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us. Today is the next invocation in the litany, seen above. In the coming days, you will see another invocation from the litany at the top of each daily reflection. May all of us, especially those who suffer, allow ourselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus. When you stop today and take a minute to pray for peace, have a seat with Jesus and let Him teach you the Beatitudes (Mt 5:1-12).
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy (Mt: 5:7).
The Beatitudes teach us that God, in order to give Himself to us, often chooses unthinkable paths, perhaps the path of our limitations, of our tears, of our defeats.
