Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 18:7-11
Mass: 2 Kgs 19:9b-11, 14-21, 31-35a, 36

As your name, O God, so also your praise reaches to the ends of the earth.

HEART OF JESUS, OVERWHELMED WITH INSULTS,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

Jesus gives us the Golden Rule today: Do to others what you would have them do to you (Mt 7:12). As yesterday, there is not much commentary needed on that. Something to consider though is this, from Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, On the Songs of Songs, Sermon 20, 2: "If [Jesus] had not loved his enemies, he could not have had any friends, just as he would have had no one to love if he had not loved those who were not."

Today's photo: Great is the Lord and wholly to be praised in these wild roses of our second field.
