Monday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 12 The Celebration of the Solemnity of Lauds
Mass: 1 Kgs 21:1-16; Resp Ps 5; Mt 5:38-42

Lord, listen to my groaning.

HEART OF JESUS, AFLAME WITH LOVE FOR US,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

Welcome to Monday!

Christian discipleship does not come without demands; we carry our crosses and help others carry theirs. Jesus' words for us today should keep us busy.

Offer no resistance to one who is evil.
When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to him as well.
If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him you cloak as well.
Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles.
Give to the one who asks of you.
Do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.
(Mt 5:39-42)

A LAMP TO MY FEET IS YOUR WORD, A LIGHT TO MY PATH.
(Gospel Acclamation, Mass)

Today's photo: Our second field under the overcast, even groaning sky of last Saturday. Can you spot the sister walking on the path below?
