Saturday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint Anthony of Padua, priest, doctor (1195?-1231)
Happy 94th Birthday to Queen Elizabeth, her 67th since being crowned Queen (though born April 21, the Queen's birthday is celebrated on the second Saturday in June)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 10 The Arrangement of the Night Office in Summer
Mass: 1 Kgs 19:19-21; Resp Ps 16; Mt 5:33-37

Keep me, O God, for in you I take refuge.

HEART OF JESUS, HOUSE OF GOD AND GATE OF HEAVEN,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

In today's Gospel, Jesus tells us: Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.'  Anything more is from the Evil One (Mt 5:37). Living and true God, the way and the truth and the life (Jn 14:6), help us to be persons of integrity. May we have truth in our hearts, on our lips, and in our deeds. May there be no duplicity in us. Amen.

Through Christ the teacher, O Lord,
instruct those who you feed with Christ, the living Bread,
that on the feast day of blessed Anthony of Padua,
they may learn your truth
and express it in works of charity.
Through Christ our Lord.
(Prayer After Communion, Mass)

SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA, PRAY FOR US.
