Friday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint Alice of Schaerbeek (or Aleydis), Belgian Cistercian (1220-1250)
Saint Onuphrius, desert hermit (d. 400)
World Day Against Child Labour

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 9 The Number of Psalms at the Night Office
Mass: 1 Kgs 19:9a, 11-16; Resp Ps 27; Mt 5:27-32

Wait for the Lord with courage; be stouthearted, and wait for the Lord.

HEART OF JESUS, HOLY TEMPLE OF GOD,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

Look below in "Today's photo" section for the beginning of this reflection. Now, why not have a sit somewhere and listen. It is possible that in these places, "we may draw God's mercy, forgiveness, and tenderness from the Heart of Jesus, then our heart too will gradually become more patient, more generous, and more merciful" (Pope Francis, Twitter). This also may help us to "shine like lights on the world, as [we] hold on to the word of life" (Gospel Acclamation). Alleluia.

Many children are forced into jobs that are inappropriate for their age, depriving them of their childhood and jeopardizing their integral development. I appeal to institutions, to spare no effort to protect minors.
(Pope Francis, Twitter, June 12, 2020)

SAINT ALICE OF SCHAERBEEK,
SAINT ONUPHRIUS,
PRAY FOR US.

Today's photo: "The chair" in our first field. Not a bad place to have a sit and wait for the Lord. In fact, it is here in this chair where one can hear the "tiny whispering sound" of the Lord (1 Kgs 19:12).
