MARY, VIRGIN MOST PRUDENT,
PRAY FOR US.

In today's General Audience, the Holy Father encouraged all the faithful to be generous witnesses to the Risen Christ. He reminded us that Christ is with us, to sustain and nourish us. After all, as Paul tells us in yet another lively account from the Acts of the Apostles: "It is God who gives to everyone life and breath and everything"! (Acts 17:25). Jesus left us a command: Go and teach all nations … teaching them to observe all that I have commanded (Mt 28:19-20). Or, as in today's Communion Antiphon: I have chosen you from the world, says the Lord, and have appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, alleluia. There are many ways to go about bearing fruit and plenty to choose from in St Benedict's Ch 4 on the Tools for Good Works. Take your pick. Some prove challenging, for example, "You are not to act in anger" (RB 4:22), or "Endure persecution for the sake of justice" (Mt 5:10/RB 4:33). Keep going.

SAINT BERNARDINE OF SIENA,
PRAY FOR US.
