Saturday of Holy Week (Holy Saturday)

In other years: Saint Stanislaw (1036-1079)

Reading of the Day:
RB: Ch 58:1-16 The Procedure for Receiving New Members

Lord my God, I call for help by day.

HEART OF JESUS, SOURCE OF ALL CONSOLATION,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

United on this Holy Saturday, what a friend called "an empty day when we live in hope", we wait in prayer at the Lord's tomb.

From the Holy Father on Italian television A Sua Immagine (In his Image):

Easter always ends in the Resurrection and in peace. This does not mean a happy ending but a loving commitment that makes you tread a difficult path. But he trod it first. This comforts us and gives us strength.

With Pope Francis's words then, the teaching of St Benedict is fitting for all disciples of Christ:

The concern must be whether the newcomer truly seeks God and whether he shows eagerness for the Work of God, for obedience and for trials. The newcomer should be clearly told all the hardships and difficulties that will lead him to God.
(RB 58:6-8)
