Friday within the Octave of Easter

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 62 The Priests of the Monastery
Mass Acts 4:1-12; Resp Ps 118; Jn 21:1-14

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever.

HEART OF JESUS, OUR LIFE AND OUR RESURRECTION,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

Welcome to Friday within the Octave of Easter, that is, the eight days of celebrating Easter, the Feast of Feasts! Every day during the Octave a different Gospel account of one of the Lord's Resurrection appearances is read. Throughout the eight days then, every Resurrection appearance of the Lord will be read. As you take time to read each account, find out what's there. In today's account, when things are in a loll it seems, Simon Peter goes back to business as usual: "I am going fishing" (Jn 21:3). As revealed, it is anything but business as usual. "This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to his disciples after being raised from the dead" (Jn 21:14).

The Risen Christ walks beside us. He reveals himself to those who invoke him and love him. First in prayer, but also in the simple joys lived with faith and gratitude. We can also feel him present in moments of sharing warmth, friendship, and the contemplation of nature.
(Pope Francis, Regina Coeli Address, April 22, 2019)

BE CREATIVE! CHRIST IS RISEN; HE IS OUR LORD!

We pray with the Holy Father:

For expectant women who will become mothers and who ask themselves: "What type of world will my child live in?". May the Lord give them the courage and confidence that it will certainly be a different world, but also one which the Lord will love tremendously.
