Buona Pasqua!
Welcome to Easter Sunday. We continue to be united. I have risen, and I am with you still, alleluia. You have laid your hand upon me, alleluia. Too wonderful for me, this knowledge, alleluia, alleluia (Entrance Antiphon, Mass). In the words of Pope Francis at today's Urbi et Orbi blessing: "The Lord has not left us alone. United in prayer, we are convinced that He has laid His hand upon us."
Dear friends, the Risen Lord is in our midst. Since we "were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God" (Col 3:1). Whether or not we literally run with Mary of Magdala (Jn 20:2), or Peter and the other disciple (Jn 20:4), we can run in heart and mind and open ourselves to "celebrate the feast" (Col 5:8), proclaiming with the psalmist, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord" (Ps 118)!
HEART OF JESUS, OUR LIFE AND OUR RESURRECTION,
HAVE MERCY ON US.
