Friday of the Fifth Week of Lent

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 52 The Oratory of the Monastery
Mass: Jer 20:10-13; Resp Ps 18; Jn 10:31-42

I love you, O Lord, my strength.

BUT THE LORD IS WITH ME, LIKE A MIGHTY CHAMPION.
(Jer 20:11)

We continue these days to put down our stones and rocks instead of picking them up like those ready to stone Jesus in today's Gospel (Jn 10:31). Remember too that PRAYER is NEVER CANCELLED.

We join the Holy Father in prayer, first in his April 2020 Prayer Intention:

Surely you have heard about the drama of addiction.
And … have you also thought about the drama of addiction to gambling, to pornography, to the internet, and the dangers of virtual space?
Supported by the "Gospel of Mercy" we can alleviate, care for and heal the suffering associated with new kinds of addiction.
We pray that those suffering from addiction may be properly helped and accompanied.

Second, from the Holy Father's homily at Mass this morning, dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows. Pope Francis said that today "it will do us good to think about Our Lady's Sorrows and to thank her because she accepted to be a Mother." Mary, Lady of Sorrows, Mother of Jesus, help us to follow the example of you and your faithful companions, and follow Jesus and listen to Him.

YOUR WORDS, LORD, ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE; YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF EVERLASTING LIFE.
(Verse before the Gospel, Mass)
