Wednesday of the First Week in Ordinary Time

Saints Maur and Placid, disciples of Saint Benedict

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 2:33-40
Mass: 1 Sm 3:1-10, 19-20; Resp Ps 40; Mk 1:29-39

Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.

Let us open our eyes to the light that comes from God, and our ears to the voice from heaven that every day calls out this charge: If you hear his voice today, do not harden your hearts.
(RB Prol 9-10)

Whatever comes our way this day, in whatever God asks of us, may we be open with dear Samuel and respond, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening" (1 Sm 3:10). If your energy is low or you find yourself in a difficult situation, call on the name of the Lord. Jesus will approach, grasp your hand, and help you up. Then with Simon's mother-in-law, be ready and eager to serve the Lord! (Mk 1:31).

SAINTS MAUR AND PLACID,
PRAY FOR US.
