Tuesday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: "They showed us unusual kindness"

Saint Agnes (-304)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 4:63-78
Mass: 1 Sm 16:1-13; Resp Ps 89; Mk 2:23-28

The Lamb who is at the center of the throne will lead them to the springs of the waters of life.

HEART OF JESUS, SACRED TEMPLE OF GOD,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

It was what the Lord said to Samuel in today's first reading that came through loud and clear: Not as man sees does God see, because he sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart (1 Sm 16:7). Thankfully, God's ways are not our ways. A prayer for today arises from the Gospel Acclamation: "May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope that belongs to our call."

What the eye has not seen nor the ear heard, God has prepared for those who love him.
(RB 4:77/1 Cor 2:9)

SAINT AGNES,
PRAY FOR US.
