Thursday after Epiphany

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 1:6-12
Mass: 1 Jn 4:11-18; Resp Ps 72; Mk 6:45-52

In the beginning and before all ages, the Word was God and he humbled himself to be born the Savior of the World.

WHOEVER LOVES GOD MUST ALSO LOVE HIS BROTHER AND SISTER.

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray (Lk 11:1). It may be that this is the only thing the disciples specifically asked Jesus to teach them. As we reflect on today's reading from the First Letter of John, we might also ask of Jesus, "Lord, teach us to love." We can also use a prayer offered by the Holy Father in his homily this morning: May the Lord give us the Holy Spirit to remain in Him, and teach us to love, simply, without making war on others.

HEART OF JESUS, KING AND CENTER OF ALL HEARTS,
HAVE MERCY ON US.
