Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 1:6-13
Mass: Is 35:4-7a; Resp Ps 146; Jm 2:1-5; Mk 7:31-37

Be opened!

Jesus is speaking to each and every one of us. 'Be opened!' O, the mirabilia Dei! The eyes of the blind are opened, the ears of the deaf clear, the lame leap like a stag, the tongue of the mute sing, streams burst forth in the desert, the burning sands become pools. We too can experience similar transformation. 'Be opened!' Jesus 'cured every disease among the people'. Jesus will cure our diseases too, for, 'He has done all things well.'

Living and true God, touch our ears, our tongues, our eyes, our hearts.
Heal us.

Grant that your faithful, O Lord, whom you nourish and endow with life through the food of your Word and heavenly Sacrament, may so benefit from your beloved Son's great gifts that we may merit an eternal share in his life.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
(Prayer after Communion, Mass)
