Saturday of the Twenty-Fourth Week in Ordinary Time

Blessed Virgin Mary

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 5:1-13 Obedience
Mass: 1 Co 15:35-37, 42-49; Resp Ps 56; Lk 8:4-15

Some seed fell on good soil, and when it grew, it produced fruit a hundredfold.

In today's parable commonly called, 'The Parable of the Sower', Jesus describes seeds that fall on the path that is trampled and then eaten by birds; those that fall on rocky ground then whither; those that fall upon thorns and are then choked; and lastly, the seed that falls on good soil. What do we need to do to refresh and nourish the soil of our hearts so that it becomes rich? May we be among the 'ones who, when they have heard the word, embrace it with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit through perseverance.'

The first step of humility is unhesitating obedience, which comes naturally to those who cherish Christ above all.
(RB 5:1)

MARY, QUEEN OF PEACE, PRAY FOR US.
