Tuesday of the Thirty-Fourth or Last Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 47 Signaling the Times for the Work of God
Mass: Dn 2:31-45; Resp Ps (Dn 3); Lk 21:5-11

All you waters above the heavens, bless the Lord, praise Him and exalt Him above all forever.

LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST CONTROL YOUR HEARTS, THE PEACE INTO WHICH YOU WERE ALSO CALLED IN ONE BODY. AND BE THANKFUL.
(Col 3:15)

One way to go about reflecting this week on how truly blessed we are is to pray with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who managed, even amidst the fiery flames of the furnace, to sing with one voice, glorifying and blessing God (Dn 3:52-90). We use some of their song at Mass this week for the Responsorial Psalm. Their song may come in handy as well when many in our country are preparing for winds, cold and chill! (Dn 3:65-70). Give glory and eternal praise to God!

Let us show that we are not ungrateful, not only in word or speech, but in deed and truth, for it is not saying thanks, but giving thanks which the Lord our God requires of us.
(Bernard of Clairvaux)
