Tuesday of the Twenty-Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 6 Restrain of Speech
Mass: Ezra 6:7-8, 12b, 14-20; Resp Ps 122; Lk 8:19-21

Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.

In today's Gospel, Jesus tells us about his relatives: "My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it." So let us "be doers of the word and not hearers only" (James 1:22).

FOR THOSE WHO ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD ARE CHILDREN OF GOD. FOR YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A SPIRIT OF SLAVERY TO FALL BACK INTO FEAR, BUT YOU RECEIVED A SPIRIT OF ADOPTION, THROUGH WHICH WE CRY, "ABBA, FATHER!" THE SPIRIT ITSELF BEARS WITNESS WITH OUR SPIRIT THAT WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD, AND IF CHILDREN, THEN HEIRS OF GOD AND JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST, IF ONLY WE SUFFER WITH HIM SO THAT WE MAY ALSO BE GLORIFIED WITH HIM.
(Rm 8:14-17)
