RB: Ch 69 The Presumption of Defending Another in the Monastery
Mass: 1 Th 2:1-8; Resp Ps 139; Mt 23:23-36
You have searched me and you know me, Lord.
In our encounters with others today, may we embody the Christian witness of Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonians: "We were gentle among you, as a nursing mother cares for her children. With such affection for you, we were determined to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our very selves as well, so dearly beloved had you become to us" (1 Th 2:2:7-8).
We pray with prayers for the evening, Magnificat, August 27, 2019:
Through the intercession of Saint Monica and all the holy women of faith, let us pray for the Church:
Answer on the day we call!
For all parents who suffer anxiety because of their children's decisions-strengthen them in prayer and hope.
For all who have abandoned the Catholic Faith of their childhood-lead them into the light of your truth.
For all the faithful who died far from family and loved ones-bring them into the joy of your household in heaven.
SAINT MONICA, PRAY FOR US.
