Thursday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint Dominic (1170-1221)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 55:15-22
Mass: Nb 20:1-13; Resp Ps 95; Mt 16:13-23

Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the God who made us.

Jesus has asked us this question before: Who do you say that I am? Our Lord is asking each and every one of us this question. Today, through the intercession of St Dominic, may we recognize Christ in each and every person we meet. May we receive the graces we need so that we do not grumble like the Israelites in our reading from the Book of Numbers. Instead, may we rejoice in the abundance of God's mercy and compassion extended to us through the people we encounter today.

In the midst of those passing things in which we are so caught up, help us, Father, to seek what truly lasts: your presence and that of our brother and sister.

SAINT DOMINIC, PRAY FOR US.
