Tuesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint Peter Chrysologus, Bishop, Doctor (380-450)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 48:22-25
Mass: Ex 33:7-11; 34:5b-9, 28; Resp Ps 103; Mt 13:36-43

As the father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Even though it's not yet the last day of the month, I am reflecting on all the saints we remember in July. St Oliver Plunkett; St Thomas, Apostle; St Elizabeth of Portugal; St Antony Mary Zaccaria; St Maria Goretti; St Kilian; St Augustine Zhao Rong and his Companions; St Benedict; St Henry; St Camillus of Lellis; St Bonaventure; Our Lady of Mount Carmel; St Apollinaris; St Mary Magdalene; St Bridget of Sweden; St Charble Makhlouf; St James, Apostle; St Joachim and St Anne; St Martha (and Mary and Lazarus too!); St Peter Chrysologus; St Ignatius of Loyola. So many saints to intercede for us. We need their help. Let us ask them to pray for us, to help protect us from the Evil One who lurks and tempts us when we least expect it. Our Father who art in heaven … lead us not into temptation.

The righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.
Whoever has ears ought to hear.

SAINT PETER CHRYSOLOGUS,
PRAY FOR US.
