Guide me, Lord, in the way of your commands.
Reflecting on the first line from today's passage from the Book of Sirach, 'A kind mouth multiplies friends and appeases enemies, and gracious lips prompt friendly greetings', I pray with the following intercessions:
O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
For words and deeds of impatience and anger:
-pardon us, O Lord!
For words and deeds of selfish grasping:
-pardon us, O Lord!
For words and deeds of unkindness:
-pardon us, O Lord!
For those sins of which we are most ashamed:
-pardon us, O Lord
(Magnificat, Prayer for the Morning, Intercessions, March 1, 2019)
In order to pray well, we need to have the heart of a child.
