RB: Ch 36 Care of the Sick
Mass: Ezk 18:21-28; Resp Ps 130; Mt 5:20-26
I trust in the Lord; my soul trusts in his word.
The word of the Lord came to the Prophet Ezekiel: If the wicked man turns away from all the sins he committed, if he keeps all my statutes and does what is right and just, he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of the crimes he committed shall be remembered against him; he shall live because of the virtue he practiced. Are we so ready to forgive those who seek reconciliation: those with whom we are at odds; those who may offend, hurt or insult us, or be unfaithful? Is it my way that is unfair, or rather, are not your ways unfair?, says the Lord.
If you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother or sister has anything against you, leave your gift at the altar, go first and be reconciled.
(Mt 5:23-24)
IF YOU, O LORD, MARK INIQUITIES, WHO CAN STAND?
(Resp Ps 130)
You will the salvation of all people, O Lord. Through this season of Lent, touch the hearts of the needy, the hardened, the proud, and the penitent with your transforming love, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
(Magnificat, Prayer for the Morning, March 15, 2015)
