St Monica died at Ostia. Her tomb is at the Basilica of St Augustine, Rome. Pope Francis returned to Rome today after his visit to Ireland. As is his custom, the Holy Father stopped at the Basilica of St Mary Major to pray before the icon of Our Lady Help of the Roman People. Before returning to the Vatican, he stopped at the Church of St Augustine to pray at the tomb of St Monica! St Monica, pray for us. Intercede for all those who have wandered from the fold.
The woman who fears the Lord will herself be praised. Her children have called her most blessed, her husband has sung her praises.
