Saturday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Blessed Virgin Mary
Saint Camillus de Lellis (1550-1614)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 39 The Proper Amount of Food
Mass: Micah 2:1-5; Resp Ps 10; Mt 12:14-21

Receive, Lord, the offerings of your people.

MARY, COMFORTER OF THE AFFLICTED,
PRAY FOR US.

We're going to do the same with Saint Camillus de Lellis that we did with Saint Richard of Chichester, that is, celebrate him twice. The former died on July 14 so is celebrated on that day in some countries, the same day that other countries celebrate Our Lady of Mount Carmel. On the General Roman calendar and followed in our country, Saint Camillus is celebrated today. And as far as I can tell our world and its peoples need his intercession. Saint Camillus de Lellis, pray for us! Thank you.

In today's Gospel, Jesus withdrew from those who were plotting to kill Him. Many of the afflicted followed Him and the Divine Physician got busy and cured them all. Jesus doesn't mind us following Him. Let's get busy and follow Him and ask Our Lord to heal us from whatever ails us.

O Good Creator, you set us in the paradise of your delights that we may till it and guard it. Perfect in us the image and likeness of yourself for which you made us.
(William of St Thierry)
