Wednesday of the Twenty-Third Week in Ordinary Time

Saint Peter Claver (1581-1654)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 1:6-13
Mass: 1 Cor 7:25-31; Resp Ps 45; Lk 6:20-26

Listen to me daughter; see and incline your ear.

REJOICE AND LEAP FOR JOY ON THAT DAY! BEHOLD, YOUR REWARD WILL BE GREAT IN HEAVEN.
(Lk 6:23)

The Holy Father said this in today's Wednesday Audience: "It is time to improve our social love, with everyone's contribution. Thus, through our gestures, even the most humble ones, something of the image of God that we bear with us will be more visible, because God is the Trinity, God is love."

Here are some humble ways to improve our social love and make more visible the image of God that we bear, original author unknown.

For the garden of your daily living:

Plant three rows of peas:
Peace of Mind
Peace of Heart
Peace of Soul

Plant four rows of squash:
Squash gossip
Squash indifference
Squash grumbling
Squash selfishness

Plant four rows of lettuce:
Lettuce be faithful
Lettuce be kind
Lettuce be patient
Lettuce us love one another

No garden is complete without turnips:
Turnip for meetings
Turnip for service
Turnip to help one another

To finish our garden we must have thyme:
Thyme for each other
Thyme for our family
Thyme for friends

Water freely with patience and cultivate with love. There is much fruit in your garden because you reap what you sow!

SAINT PETER CLAVER,
PRAY FOR US.
