MARY, QUEEN OF PEACE,
MARY, QUEEN OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY,
SAINT JOSEPH,
PRAY FOR US.

For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks the door will be opened.
(Lk 11:10)

I took note of what was proclaimed this morning at Lauds from Saint John's Second Letter. John the apostle writes these things to us so that we might know that we have eternal life, we who believe in the name of the Son of God (see 1 Jn 5:13). John continues, "and we have this confidence in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked Him for is ours" (1 Jn 5:14-15). Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

And a couple of our great intercessors have this to say:

Do not be troubled if you do not immediately receive from God what you ask Him; for He desires to do something even greater for you, while you cling to Him in prayer.
(Evagrius Ponticus in Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2737)

God wills that our desire should even be exercised in prayer, that we may be able to receive what He is prepared to give.
(Saint Augustine in CCC 2737)

SAINT BRUNO,
BLESSED MARIE ROSE DUROCHER,
PRAY FOR US.

NB. CCC = Catechism of the Catholic Church. Promoting once again our Catechism, I at the same time encourage you to take a look at Part Four on Christian Prayer, 2558-2865. It is loaded with good things. And as far as today's Gospel is concerned, 2735-2737 address the question, "Why do we complain of not being heard?" Who me, complain? ☺

Today's photo: Not surprisingly, just as I was wondering what photo to use today, dear faithful reader Catherine came through with a perfect one. Here we are at the Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
