Monday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the day: RB 25 Punishment for More Serious Faults
Mass: Am 2:6-10, 13-16; Resp Ps 50; Mt 8:18-22

Follow me and let the dead bury the dead.

In response to Jesus’ command, I turn to André Louf (1929-2010): For disciples of Jesus it is enough, every day anew, to place their feet in the footprints of Jesus to take us his cross and to follow him wherever he goes. What will it be, then? ‘Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go’, or ‘Lord, let me go first and bury my father.’

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
ALLELUIA.
