Wednesday of the Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 32 The Tools and Goods of the Monastery
Mass: Gn 41:55-57; 42:5-7a, 17-24a: Resp Ps 33; Mt 10:1-7

Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last.
(Jn 15:16)

The Lord is good to the soul who seeks him. Seek him in your prayers, follow him in your actions, find him in faith. How can faith fail to find him? It reaches what is unreachable, makes known what is unknown, grasps what is measured, plumbs the uttermost depths, and in a way encompasses even eternity itself in it wide embrace.
(Bernard of Clairvaux, On the Song of Songs, 76,6)
