Feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 26 Unauthorized Association with the Excommunicated
Mass: Ep 2:19-22; Resp Ps 116; Jn 20:24-29

Go out to all the world and tell the Good News.

Someone is knocking at the door. Go ahead and answer it. It is the Lord: Peace be with you.

Strengthen us in faith, O Lord!
Amid doubt, darkness, and despair:
Strengthen us in faith, O Lord!
Amid indifference, hostility, and arrogance:
Strengthen us in faith, O Lord!
Amid questions and fears:
Strengthen us in faith, O Lord!
(Magnificat, Prayer for the Evening, Intercessions, July 3, 2019)

I found a story by Charlotta Smeds on Vatican News this morning that is occupying my thoughts. It is about a woman called Elise Lindquist. She is known as "'The Angel of the Prostitutes of Malmskillnadsgatan', one of the streets of central Stockholm." I include the link. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/world/news/2019-07/stories-mother-teresa-of-prostitutes-elise-lindqvist.htm.

Dear Elise, thank you. We pray for all victims of sexual abuse, human trafficking and all crimes that violate the dignity of the human person made in the image and likeness of God.

SAINT THOMAS THE APOSTLE, PRAY FOR US.
