Readings of the Day
Rule of Saint Benedict: Ch 1:1-5 The Kinds of Monks
Mass: Is 60:1-6; Resp Ps 72; Eph 3:2-3a, 5-6; Mt 2:1-12
All kings shall pay Him homage.
MARY, QUEEN OF PEACE,
PRAY FOR US.
JESUS, KING OF KINGS,
HAVE MERCY ON US.
Upon you the Lord shines and over you appears His glory.
(Is 60:2)
With this good news from the Prophet Isaiah, follow the star that will lead you to the Star, He, the way, the truth, and the life. Do Him homage.
The obedience of the star calls us to imitate its humble service: to be servants, as best we can, of the grace that invites all of us to find Christ.
Dear friends, you must have the same zeal to be of help to one another; then, in the kingdom of God, to which faith and good works are the way, you will shine as children of light: through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with God the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
(From a sermon by Saint Leo the Great, pope, in Office of Readings, Epiphany)
Today's photo: How's this for an awesome wise man, hand crafted by a monk of our Order with us this month. Notice the innkeeper in the background. All nations shall serve Him.
