Monday within the Octave of Easter

In other years: Pope Saint Martin I (-655)

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 59 The Offering of Children by Nobles or the Poor
Mass: Acts 2:14, 22-33; Resp Ps 16; Mt 28:8-15

Keep me safe, O God; you are my hope.

HEART OF JESUS, OUR LIFE AND OUR RESURRECTION,
HAVE MERCY ON US.

ALLELUIA!

Welcome to Easter Monday! In today's Gospel, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary run quickly from the tomb. They were "fearful yet overjoyed" (Mt 28:8). It is no wonder this-they had just experienced a great earthquake and an angel of the Lord descending from heaven (Mt 28:2). Now Jesus meets and greets them! (Mt 28:9). Emotions run the gamut. The Lord is risen. Alleluia! Let us join these holy women and approach Jesus, embrace his feet and do Him homage (Mt 28:9).

DO NOT BE AFRAID.
(Mt 28:10)

We pray with the Holy Father:

Today, let us pray for government leaders, scientists and politicians who are beginning to study a way out of the pandemic, though its 'aftermath' has already begun. May they find the right way, always for the good of the people.

POPE SAINT MARTIN I,
PRAY FOR US.
