Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 18:20-25
Mass: Gn 13:2, 5-18; Resp Ps 15; Mt 7:6, 12-14

He who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.

Jesus speaks clearly: Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. St Benedict refers to the same teaching in his Tools for Good Works. One translator puts it this way: "Do not inflict on someone else what you would resent if it were done to yourself" (RB 4:9). This is the Law and the Prophets, Jesus continues. May this command guide our thoughts, words, and actions.

IF YOU PREFER THE LEFT, I WILL GO TO THE RIGHT; IF YOU PREFER THE RIGHT, I WILL GO TO THE LEFT.
(Gn 13:9)
