Saturday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time

Blessed Virgin Mary

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 12 The Celebration of Solemn Lauds
Mass: 2 Cor 5:14-21; Resp Ps 103; Mt 5:33-37

The Lord pardons all your iniquities, he heals all your ills.

Reflections stem from something the Holy Father said in a homily today, one he preached at the funeral Mass for the former papal nuncio to Argentina, Léon Kalenge. As reported by Vatican News: "In His farewell, Jesus gives us hope when He tells us: 'I am going to prepare a place for you'. Pope Francis concluded his homily by recalling the spirituality he was taught in the novitiate: 'that all life is a way of learning to die … life teaches us to leave … to say goodbye', he said. 'May the Lord give us all this grace: to learn to leave'."

We learn to die by no longer living for ourselves but for Christ who for our sake died and was raised. We make our "Yes" mean "Yes" and be ambassadors for Christ by deepening our relationship with Him through a life of prayer, reconciliation and mercy; a life where charity and love prevail.

Forgive us now each other's faults
As we our faults confess;
And let us love each other well
In Christian holiness.

HAIL, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, PRAY FOR US.
