Saturday of the Second Week of Advent

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 61:1-5 The Reception of Visiting Monks
Mass: Si 48:1-4, 9-11; Resp 80; Mt 17:9a, 10-13

Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths: All flesh shall see the salvation of God.

As our Advent journey continues, we pray:

May the splendor of your glory dawn in our hearts,
we pray, almighty God,
that all shadows of the night may be scattered
and we may be shown to be children of light
by the advent of your Only Begotten Son.
Who lives and reigns with you in the unity
of the Holy Spirit,
on God, for ever and ever.
(Collect, Mass)

Lord, make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be saved.
(Resp Ps 80)

Living and true God, increase our faith. Grant strength, courage, and comfort to all those who are persecuted, abused, neglected; for the aged and infirmed; for those who live in fear; for those who have had to flee their homes due to violence and conflict. For the people of Iraq, Yemen, and South Sudan, especially women and children.

AMEN.

MARANA THA! COME, LORD JESUS!
