Saint Lucy, early Christian martyr

Thursday of the Second Week of Advent

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 59 The Offering of  Children by Nobles or by the Poor
Mass: Is 41:13-20; Resp Ps 145; Mt 11:11-15

Let the clouds rains down the Just One, and the earth bring forth a Savior.

Just as in the second coming we will go to meet Christ, our bodies rising up in exultation, so we must greet his first coming with hearts straining with desire and leaping with joy.
(Guerric of Igny)

With the words of the Collect from Mass:

May the glorious intercession of the Virgin and Martyr Lucy give us new heart, we pray, O Lord, so that we may celebrate her heavenly birthday in this present age and so behold things eternal.

MARANA THA! COME, LORD JESUS!

Even when we pray alone, we pray together with all the people of God.
(Pope Francis, Twitter, December 13, 2018)

ST LUCY, PRAY FOR US.
